Overview

Ruona Odharo joined the Houston Office of Martin, Disiere, Jefferson & Wisdom as an associate in November 2025. Her practice focuses on civil defense litigation, specializing in insurance defense.

Ruona graduated Summa Cum Laude from Sam Houston State University with a B.S. in Criminal Justice. She later relocated to Austin, Texas, where she earned her Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Texas School of Law.

During law school, Ruona demonstrated strong leadership as Vice President of Communications, and 3L Representative for the Student Bar Association, as well as Media Director for Women’s Law Caucus. She further showed her commitment to advocacy as a Student Attorney for the Human Rights Clinic, and a Member of the Mock Trial-Advocacy Program, where she and her team won the 2023 MLK, Jr. Civil Rights Trial Competition and 2025 SWBLSA Constance Baker Motley Mock Trial Competition.

Outside of her legal practice, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, as well as exploring and perfecting different cuisines, diving into true crime documentaries, and volunteering in her community.
