Overview

Preparing a petition for review is another “art” that we are regularly called on to practice. A petition for review is a request for the Texas Supreme Court to review a case, and it is very different from an ordinary brief, which argues only the merits. An effective petition for review must convince on two levels – it must show, in abbreviated fashion (15 pages), not only that the court of appeals erred, but that the supreme court should spend part of its very limited time on reversing the court of appeals’ decision. A deft touch is required, and our appellate team can provide it.
