Clinton Wolbert
Clint focuses his practice on defending insurance carriers in first-party coverage litigation. He regularly handles a wide variety of lawsuits and claims, and has significant experience in property damage, equipment breakdown, arson, business interruption (including COVID), personal liability, commercial general liability and professional liability/errors and omissions claims, among others.
Clint develops his cases with an eye toward trial, and has particular expertise in taking and defending expert depositions. He has tried many cases to verdict and has significant experience in all aspects of trial preparation in state and federal courts. Clint also represents clients in a broad range of pre-litigation matters, such as insurance appraisals, DTPA demands, coverage opinions and examinations under oath.
In addition to his first-party coverage work, Clint has defended insureds in a variety of other litigated and pre-litigation matters, such as professional liability claims, construction defect, product liability, wrongful death and other general negligence matters.
Clint recently worked as a legal secondee for several months in London directly with a Lloyd’s of London insurance syndicate, where he obtained invaluable claims handling experience, drafted and reviewed proposed insurance policy wordings, and gained insight into how insurance syndicates and the London Market operate internally.
Clint is admitted in Texas, Oklahoma and Massachusetts state and federal district courts, as well as the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals.
