David J. Quan

Mr. Quan is Board Certified in Labor and Employment Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and is licensed to practice in both Texas and California. The primary focus of his extensive experience has been on issues related to the workplace and the employment relationship. Since 1993, Mr. Quan has counseled employers and management on employment law and human resources issues such as employment contracts, terminations, employee discipline, leave policies and practices, investigations of alleged harassment and/or discrimination, compensation, union avoidance, and measures on reducing liability and exposure to litigation. He has represented clients in litigation involving discrimination and retaliation claims under Title VII, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, Section 1981, Section1983, the Texas Workers’ Compensation Act, and parallel state statutes, wage and hour claims under the Fair Labor Standards Act, and in employment-related tort claims. He has also represented management clients in disciplinary arbitration and in Unfair Labor Practice proceedings against unionized employees. During his career, Mr. Quan has served a wide variety of clients, including family owned businesses, public agencies, and Fortune 500 companies. Mr. Quan’s prior experience includes serving as a judicial law clerk to both the Honorable Ronald S.W. Lew of the Central District of California, and the Honorable William J. Cornelius, former Chief Justice of the Texas Court of Appeals, Sixth Judicial District. From 2006 through 2012, Mr. Quan served as an Associate Municipal Court Judge for the City of Houston.
